We finally said okay, but said we wanted the rights to the tapes because we didn’t want the album to be released outside of Japan. Originally issued in December 1972 (in the UK April 1973 in the US), “Made In Japan” captured the band live over three nights in August 1972 at Festival Hall in Osaka and at the Budokan in Tokyo, Japan. A 40th Anniversary edition of Deep Purple’s “Made In Japan” is in production and set to be released in March 2014. ![]()
